Tom Dalrymple
I am a UKCP registered Psychotherapist in training offering low-cost, weekly, face to face therapy for adults.
Hi, I am a trainee Psychotherapist in my fourth year of training towards an MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy at BCPC in Bath. I started seeing clients in the summer 2022.
I have been a “hands on” nature conservationist for nearly 30 years. This has influenced my work as a therapist. I recognise the power of our connection with the natural world to heal, but also how painful and anxiety-inducing climate change and threats to the natural world can be.
I began training in Psychotherapy because I find it meaningful and a privilege to facilitate and be part of a person’s journey through suffering towards their potential.
My approach is to try to meet you with whatever you bring. It’s important to have someone genuine, really listen without judging or advising. Sometimes it helps to have your feelings and experiences witnessed in a sensitive way. Therapy can give you the room to make sense of your past and the relationships you have today. Good therapy can create the safe space for you to experience being in a different way.
I believe that lasting change comes from a deep, embodied experience of change. I work to try to help you understand yourself and your past in a supportive way and at a pace that you feel comfortable with.
In order to change patterns of behaviour it helps to understand the unconscious motives that drive them.
