Christine Aldridge
Offering both person-centred and psychodynamic counselling for adults.
I am a trained Integrative Counsellor, whereby I work with two different modalities, which are psychodynamic and person-centred theory.
Psychodynamic counselling allows exploration of past experiences, allowing us to think together about how these experiences may be impacting your present life.
Person-centred counselling promotes emphasis on the importance of the relationship between counsellor and client.
I provide an environment of non-judgmental, human connection which can, in itself, promote healing.
I offer a caring and compassionate relationship whereby I provide a safe environment for you to explore your feelings and life experiences. It takes courage to reach out and talk about your difficulties and I aim to work respectfully and professionally with you – providing a non judgmental space for you to explore.
Talking about and exploring our feelings can provide us with a different perspective and an understanding of our responses to the difficulties we encounter.
I aim to provide the space for you to consider the roots of your feelings and reactions. Working towards self-awareness and gaining a deeper understanding of yourself. This knowledge can offer relief from distress and help you invest in yourself and your current/future relationships.
Areas I can help with include anxiety, depression, health related issues, identity issues, loss, personal development, post-traumatic stress, relationships, self-esteem, trauma and work related issues. I have a special interest in working with Veterans.
