Christine Aldridge

Offering both person-centred and psychodynamic counselling for adults.

About me

I am a trained Integrative Counsellor, whereby I work with two different modalities, which are psychodynamic and person-centred theory.

Psychodynamic counselling allows exploration of past experiences, allowing us to think together about how these experiences may be impacting your present life.

Person-centred counselling promotes emphasis on the importance of the relationship between counsellor and client.

I provide an environment of non-judgmental, human connection which can, in itself, promote healing.

What I offer

It takes courage to reach out and to talk about difficulties you might be experiencing in your life. We will work at entirely your own pace. My aim is to create an environment where you will feel seen, heard, valued and empowered.

My practice is grounded in empathy, respect and professionalism.

As an experienced integrative counsellor I draw on a variety of evidence based approaches, which include, psychodynamic, person-centred and trauma-informed practice, which in turn supports us to form an adaptable, therapeutic relationship.

You know yourself intuitively and I can help you re-connect with yourself. Often we intuitively know what feels right for us but trauma, addiction, difficult relationships and life experiences can disconnect us from our inner knowing. Through compassionate listening and my integrative approach I can help you re-discover your inner guidance and locate what it is you feel you need. You are the expert on your own needs – I will support you to explore this in our sessions.

I am respectful and compassionate – my aim is to help you better understand yourself, process difficult/traumatic experiences in order to help you move towards balance, resilience and fulfilment in your life. I provide a non-judgmental space where you can openly explore what is going on for you in a trusted and confidential space.

Talking about and exploring your experiences and feelings can give an opportunity to consider the roots of your behaviours and reactions. It can also provide an insight into what is no longer benefiting you in your life.

When you can do this with self-compassion – this can bring enormous change.

I am also a qualified Angelic Reiki Practitioner – please get in touch if this is of interest to you.
