Jane Chalkley

I am a counsellor providing both short- and long-term therapy. I offer a warm, open, honest and empathic space free of judgment where I help people explore whatever is troubling them.

About me

My name is Jane and I am a counsellor providing both short- and long-term therapy to adult individuals.

I trained as a person-centred counsellor at the University of East Anglia and have over 15 years’ experience of working therapeutically with adults, both in the voluntary sector and in my private practice.

I will work with you to help you to increase your self-awareness and gain some insight into your feelings, thoughts and behaviours, and perhaps to recognize barriers and learned responses that are no longer helpful to you.

What I offer

Seeking therapy can feel like taking a big chance. You may not know what to expect and you may not really know what you’re hoping for from therapy.

Our work together will be a collaboration in which I offer a safe and supportive space where we can explore what may be happening for you.  If you feel that you have become stuck in a rut of habitual thinking and feeling, and have perhaps become aware of the same patterns repeating themselves and would like somewhere to explore this further, counselling could help.

Whatever you may be struggling with, whether it’s something you’re experiencing now or something from your past, I will listen to you very carefully and respectfully as we work together.  The way in which you live your life is unique to you.  I will honour your uniqueness and provide a warm, open, honest and empathic space free of judgment where, together, we can explore whatever is troubling you.
