Having worked for many years as a support worker for those with mental health challenges I grew ever more curious as to why, when someone is given information, guidance, support, resources and encouragement to help them to improve their situation or quality of life, they often remained stuck where they were. It was as if there was an invisible barricade preventing them from moving towards what it was they said they wanted and aspired to achieve.
