Martin Underwood

I am a Pain & Posture Specialist using the Alexander Technique and mind-body skills to help people move beyond chronic muscle and joint pain.

About me

I help people who feel stuck in pain – even after trying everything – find clarity, move with ease, and move beyond pain. My approach goes beyond just fixing the parts that hurt. I look at the whole system- body, mind, and daily habits – to uncover the deeper patterns keeping pain and stress locked in place.

As a Pain & Posture Specialist using the Alexander Technique and mind-body skills, I help people move with ease, free from tension and strain. Alexander Technique teachers train for three years full-time to refine a unique way of using hands and words – not to manipulate, but to guide natural coordination. My approach combines pain neuroscience, nervous system regulation, and posture alignment with an understanding of how thoughts and emotions affect pain. This work is deeply calming, like an embodied meditation, where stress melts away, and movement becomes effortless.

As a former Head of HR and Career Strategist, I also support people navigating workplace pain, career transitions and returning to work after injury or illness – helping them build a sustainable career that supports their well-being.

If you’re tired of short-term fixes and want lasting change, I’d love to help.
