Siouxsie Bytheway

Counselling for Adults, Young People and Children in Stroud including members of the LGBTQI+ community.

About me

If you are reading this maybe you, or perhaps a loved one or child, are struggling to find your way.

Perhaps you can’t seem to be able to see the wood for the trees right now.

If so then looking for help can also be a bewildering experience, asking who can really help me, who will be able to understand?

I bring a wealth of professional and personal experience to help you find your way. I have been working in the South West supporting individuals and families in a wide range of roles since 2004, and have been working therapeutically as a counsellor with individuals since 2014. I also have significant experience supporting members of the LGBTQI+ community, including working with trans / non-binary identities. I am passionate about this work, and alongside my professional experience working in this area, I bring with me many years of my own lived experience.

The most important focus of my counselling practice is the quality of relationship that I bring to my work. Confidential, safe, warm, caring, entirely without judgement, supportive and honest.

It is through the bringing together of my experience, training and this relationship that I hope to be able to be person who really can understand, and help you find your own way.

To finally be able to see the wood for the trees.

What I offer

My approach to counselling is an integrative one, this means that I have trained to work with you in a range of ways, (including gestalt, person centred, transactional analysis, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approaches), so as to best meet your needs and goals as an individual. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach.

Counselling can help with a wide range of difficulties, and provide the space for you to understand those difficulties better, improve your self-awareness, make changes and break negative repetitive patterns in your life and relationships.

Central to the success of any counselling is the quality of the relationship I am able to forge with you, caring, honest, warm, and safe, entirely without judgement.

It is important to me that I provide a safe and confidential place for you to properly explore your difficulties.

To that end I strictly abide by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Ethical Framework. I receive regular clinical supervision, am fully insured, hold an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate and will store your information and personal details in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations.

Please see my website for more information about me and my practice.
